Mental Health Support for Pilots and Aviation Careers in Indiana
Working in aviation can be exciting, rewarding and demanding, all at the same time. Pilots, air traffic controllers, mechanics, dispatchers and other aviation professionals often work in environments where focus, responsibility and composure matter every day.
Being good at your job doesn't mean you have to handle everything on your own.
I understand that the challenges you face can be different from those in a typical 9-to-5 career. Therapy can provide a space to talk through stress, anxiety, relationships, burnout, career concerns and the many pressures that can come with working in such a demanding field.
You may be a commercial pilot navigating the pressures of recurrent training. You may work in air traffic control and carry significant responsibility during every shift. You may be balancing unpredictable schedules with family and relationships. Whatever your role, therapy can help you develop practical tools for managing the challenges that come with the job.
For many aviation professionals, seeking mental health support can feel complicated. There can be understandable concerns about privacy, professional reputation, licensing, medical certification or how asking for help might affect a career.
Those concerns deserve to be taken seriously. Therapy should be a place where you can have an honest conversation without feeling judged. I understand working with the DOT and FAA, fears of losing your medical or working with other professionals to assist in regaining/keeping your medical.
Throughout my career, I have worked with many aviators including military and civilian.
If you have FAA requirements to attend therapy for your medical, I am able to provide this service and give updates to your HIMS-AME providers. Please note, I do not offer FAA evaluations, just counseling.
