What is Telehealth or Telemedicine? You may have heard the words telehealth, telemedicine or tele-behavioral health. All of these mean the same for receiving your healthcare services through an online platform. You still see the clinician and we can see you. It's a lot like having a FaceTime call but more secure. You're getting the exact same service you would meeting your clinician in their office, just from the comfort of your home or wherever you are located.

Online Counseling at One Step Forward For my online counseling practice, we meet together through my Electronic Health Record (EHR), Simple Practice. It's free and you only download an app if using a phone or table. You will receive a link, via email, prior to our appointment, inviting you to your individual session. Just click the link and I'll be there at our scheduling appointment time. Here's some FAQ's about Telehealth by Simple Practice. I also use Doxy.me as a backup platform.
Online counseling offers you more flexibility, as you can meet with me from anywhere in Indiana. Let's say you can't get time off at work to drive to and from appointments but you do have an hour lunch break-we can meet online. Maybe you're a stay at home mom and can't get a sitter for all of your kids-we can meet online.
Many insurance companies cover telehealth and I can verify this benefit for you. I have some clients that we only meet together online and some who do a combination of in-office and online. I am very flexible about this.
Some people are fearful that you won't get the same level services, you absolutely will be, we will just be talking through a different platform. If I think your level of care would be better suited for in-office appointments, we will discuss this.
